原料にマニラ麻を使用した、天然素材の和紙糸を編み上げています。マニラ麻は強靭で弾力に富み、耐湿・耐水性にも優れた繊維です。船舶用ロープや日本紙幣の原料にもなるこの強靭な繊維を、裏側に編み込んだポリエステル糸で補強することで、和紙布の強度を大幅に高めました。表面は和紙本来の質感を活かしつつ、実用的な耐久性を兼ね備えたユニークな素材です。国内の熟練職人が、丹精込めて丁寧に編み上げています。

― About the fabric used for our bags

This fabric is knitted from natural washi (Japanese paper) yarn made from Manila hemp. Manila hemp is a remarkably strong and resilient fiber, characterized by its superior moisture and water resistance―qualities that also make it an essential material for marine ropes and Japanese banknotes. By knitting polyester yarn into the backing to reinforce these robust fibers, we have significantly enhanced the fabric's overall strength. The result is a unique material that retains the authentic texture of washi on the surface while providing practical durability. This fabric is meticulously crafted by skilled artisans in Japan.
