― 紙布について

原料にマニラ麻を使用した天然素材の紙糸を、国内の熟練職人が丁寧に編み上げています。

マニラ麻は強靭で弾力に富み、耐湿・耐水性にも優れた繊維で、船舶用ロープや日本紙幣の原料としても使用されています。

裏側にポリエステル糸を編み込むことで強度を高め、紙本来の質感を活かしながら高い耐久性を実現しました。

軽く通気性に優れ、さらりとした肌触りも特徴です。

使い始めはほどよい張りがありますが、使い込むほどに柔らかくなり、風合いが深まっていきます。

紙の表情と布のしなやかさを併せ持ち、使うほどに持ち主に馴染んでいく素材です。

― About the Fabric

Crafted by skilled artisans in Japan, this unique textile is made from natural paper yarn derived from Manila hemp.

Manila hemp is a strong and resilient fiber with excellent resistance to moisture and water, traditionally used for ship ropes and even Japanese banknotes.

By reinforcing the reverse side with polyester yarn, the fabric achieves enhanced durability while retaining the distinctive texture and character of paper. Lightweight, breathable, and comfortable against the skin, it offers both practicality and a unique tactile quality.

While it has a gentle firmness when new, it gradually softens with use, developing a richer character over time.

Combining the expressive texture of paper with the suppleness of cloth, this is a material that grows more familiar and personal the more it is used.
